Spring always tends to be a little bit more optimistic in color; there was a splash of literally eye-popping orange on the catwalk – together with vivid stripes adorning one witty outfit to the other. Designers had taken their box of crayons and colored up a storm, literally going wild. Models were either uptown chic in matching skirts and jackets (“eclectic”, was the word used by bloggers and critics alike), or more bohemian laid back in bright tops and mini shorts, echoing good old california surf style.
Nothing says summer more than fruity colors or a sunny yellow, mix and match your favorite hues or go for a bold print on a lovely, floaty dress. Color is definitely the cheapest and easiest way to add some zing to your outfit.
For lack of inspiration, just go to the man Marc Jacobs himself. Both of his spring ad campaigns (for head label Marc Jacobs and its little sister, Marc by Marc) have us yearning for even more – yes, that’s right -color.
